This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to euthanise animals using firearms and techniques appropriate for the type and mobility of the animal.
The unit applies to individuals who hold a valid firearms license and work under broad direction and take responsibility for their own work. They use discretion and judgement in the selection, allocation and use of available resources and for solving problems.
State or territory licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply. Destruction of pest animals must comply with state animal cruelty legislation.
Pest Management (PMG)
This Course is offered as a workshop delivery and field assessment activity conducted over 2 days (depending on student current knowledge, industry experience current competency). All participants are required to attend the course interactive presentation and complete the theory assessments PRIOR to undertaking initial simulated field practical assessment and final field practical assessments covering the key element requirements of the unit of competency and demonstrate a thorough understanding and application of these skills.
Specific course pricing is subject to delivery location, travel and your individual training needs.
To be eligible for this course, you will need to to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). Without one, you will not be eligible for Commonwealth financial assistance or receive your qualification or statement of attainment.
